About Melbourne United
Since 1984Melbourne United carries on the history of the Melbourne Tigers, who entered the NBL in 1984 and won championships in 1993 and 1997 with Andrew Gaze, the league's all-time leading scorer. The club rebranded as Melbourne United in 2014.
United has been one of the NBL's most consistent contenders since, winning titles in 2017–18 and 2020–21 and playing in several more Grand Final series. Home games at John Cain Arena in the Melbourne sports precinct regularly draw some of the biggest crowds in the league.
