Fremantle finished on top of the 2026 AFL ladder with 76 premiership points (19 wins) and a percentage of 137.2, ahead of Sydney on 72 points.
Clubs get four premiership points for a win and two for a draw. Clubs on the same points are separated by percentage: points scored divided by points conceded, multiplied by 100. Byes are worth nothing, so clubs that have had more byes can sit lower for a week or two.
From 2026 the top ten make the finals. Seventh plays tenth and eighth plays ninth in a wildcard round, and the two winners join the top six. The top four still get a second chance in the first week of finals.
Brisbane won the 2026 AFL premiership, beating Fremantle in the Grand Final.
